Salma was the #1 series aboard the Welcoming Library: Cart Collections that rolled 90-book #Immigrant & New Generation collections into schools & community centers across the nation!
Series? Yes! Author Danny Ramadan has followed up his #picturebook Salma the Syrian Chef with an early chapter series that WE LOVE——Salma Makes a Home and Salma Writes a Book.
In them, Salma’s father finally makes it to Canada and Salma discovers her uncle is in a same sex marriage. Her family’s emotional journeys are compelling, compassionate, and completely age-appropriate.
Supporting I’m Your Neighbor Books allows us to support the intersectionality of the immigrant experience in ways that build belonging for ALL kids—including (of course) the #LGBTQIA+ ones!
