Written by Kylian Mbappé
Illustrated by Faro
Published by Rodale Kids
Winning is incredible. But growing, learning, and daring to try again matter just as much.
Kylian Mbappé is one of the greatest soccer players of all time. But he wasn’t always. In fact, there was a time when he was just a walk-on, with nothing but a killer kick and a dream.
Now, in this inspiring graphic memoir, Kylian invites readers to discover his journey-including his imperfections. From the challenges he faced growing up biracial in France to his struggles in school, where he could never focus or sit still, to the ingredients that led to his success, Kylian shares anecdotes his fans have never heard before. It’s all here, complete with Kylian’s sly humor and striking art by acclaimed comics artist Faro.
By sharing his story, Kylian extends a hand to young readers everywhere. He wants everyone to understand that they are unique, that they are different, that they have an opportunity, and that they must seize it.
