I’m Your Neighbor Books (IYNB) had the honor of participating in Seafest 2026. Hosted by Khmer Maine, Seafest 2026 celebrated Maine’s Southeast Asian communities. The event centered the region’s diverse cultures as expressed in music, dance, and food while also highlighting the Southeast Asian community’s contributions to Maine.
Under the IYNB tent, we shared books celebrating Asian identities and gave away our new brochure linking readers to book lists featuring 45 Asian communities. Sheltered from the rain, we had conversations about books, future collaborations and all the ways literature builds a sense of welcoming and belonging with attendees.
You are welcome to download, print, and share the brochure for AAPI Month and beyond.
Our Dim Sum Palace Photobooth featuring X. Fang’s award-winning book was a hit! Holding a giant plushie dumpling, kids and adults got to pretend to share outsized dim sum with Liddy!
We loved being in the audience for performances by the ShinDaiko drummers, Krush Dance Krew and others! And, the rain could not dampen the joy of being surrounded by incredible food and partner nonprofits like Maine Humanities Council and ProsperityME.
