I’m Your Neighbor Books has rolled out our Welcoming Library: Cart Collection. Innovated to move a collection and conversation within a school, library, or other building, this beautiful wooden cart holds 90 acclaimed Immigrant and New Generation picture books, novels and graphic novels.
Welcoming Library: Cart Collection includes:
- Wooden Book Cart designed specifically for IYNB to hold both picture books and novels. It can be rolled between rooms or displayed within a library or community space. One side of the cart invites readers to, “Read to Welcome” and the other side invites them to, “Read to Belong.” To celebrate multilingualism, each end of the cart shares the phrase, “I’m Your Neighbor” in 10 languages.
Note: The cart arrives flat, but through a unique slotted design, it only needs a screwdriver to insert and tighten two screws. - 30 Core Picture Books with our acclaimed Discussion Questions affixed to the endpapers. The questions readers to have in-depth, SEL-informed conversations about welcoming, belonging, and the cultural and historical details that inform the story. The questions are vetted by community members.
- 60 Grade-Level Picture Books, Novels and Graphic Novels that open deeper conversations about immigration, welcoming, and belonging.
- Wonderbook Editions (print book with an embedded audiobook player) of the graphic novels Invisible and When Stars Are Scattered (or equivalent title) included in your collection thanks to a donation from AudioFile Magazine.
- All Books Processed with a spine label, multilingual cover sticker, and bookplate to highlight and visually unite the collection. Additionally, each book jacket is covered with library-quality mylar.
- Inventory Sheet to allow you to see what books you might already own in this Immigrant and New Generation genre of books.
- Expansion Kit to allow you to unite and interchange the Cart Collection books with books from your own collection. The kit includes 100 sets of multilingual stickers and custom bookplates.
- Annual Book Lists with new titles and recommended books highlighted.
